What the evidence shows
The House January 6 committee found no evidence of such an offer. Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller testified there was no presidential order to deploy 10,000 troops. The Speaker did not command the D.C. National Guard. See the committee final report and FactCheck.org’s evidence review.
