“107%” of job creation went to illegal immigrants

What the evidence shows
The calculation behind this talking point compares selected endpoints in the household survey for U.S.-born and foreign-born employment. BLS’s foreign born category includes naturalized U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, temporary workers, and undocumented workers; BLS explicitly does not collect legal status. Endpoint comparisons can also change with population controls and sampling error. The data cannot support the claim that 107% of jobs went to undocumented immigrants, and payroll employment grew by millions over the period.
